I have the privilege of being on the photography team for Ada Bible Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I’m most often found at the Kentwood campus several times a month, and I’m glad to have the chance to serve the people of Ada Bible Church through communicating the sense of community at our church.
I’ve recently begun photographing events for the Yelp Grand Rapids community, thanks to Katy, the Community Ambassador for our area. It’s been a great opportunity to help people connect with local businesses and organizations, like the Grand Rapids Ballet.
I’m looking forward to working with the local Yelp community more in the future!
One thing that I appreciate about the events I’ve photographed for Yelp Grand Rapids is getting out to cool local spots in GR, like the Green Well. Although I was too busy having fun photographing the event, the food looked so good I decided to come later in the week for my birthday dinner with my wife!
Michael Stockdale is a member of the Grand Rapids Guitar Quartet, as well as my former guitar instructor. I had the opportunity to photograph their rehearsal at First Presbyterian Church in Grand Haven, Michigan and provide them with great photographs to use for their events and social media. Thanks to Michael for letting me listen to your group play!
One way I’ve been able to serve in the Grand Rapids community over the past few years is photographing the annual fundraising dinner for Keys for Kids Ministries.
I’ve met some great people through this ministry and I’m glad I was able to help them connect with their audience through photography of their events.
One of the advantages of being a photographer local to the Grand Rapids area is that I get to go to some of the most beautiful parks of the Lake Michigan lake shore.
In this case, Keys for Kids Ministries brought me to Maranatha Bible and Missionary Conference in Muskegon, Michigan, which is a vacation spot for many families where they learn about the work of ministries like Keys for Kids.
These photos are from the presentation Keys for Kids made at the end of the week after telling vacationers all week long about the work they do.

I first met Phil through my day job, as he does voice over recording for the radio station I work at. The station is up here in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Phil’s actually down in Orlando, Florida, working out of his own studio, so it’s a rare treat that we get together in person.
This last visit he came up to Grand Rapids, and we did some extra recording in the studio. I took advantage of the time to take some off-the-cuff photographs as he recorded, and they show what’s it’s really like to record in a production studio.
He’s a good friend, and I’m glad I had the chance to capture our time together!
